State of affairs
The "new combat balance" stirred such a storm, BB had no choice faced with a huge negative feedback on test to canned it (only F adventures will be changed)
After 2 years of waiting finally pvp arrived to TSO and it was a total mix of responses. Some liked it some didn't, yet even those who do like it are disappointed at the cost/reward ratio, lack of score boards and abilities to challenge guildies/friends or guild matches.
The aftermath of "new balance" fiasko is the "revised" loot of all adventures that also puts grim on a lot of faces. Faced with increased demand for epic loot (lev6 upgrades and weapons production) we are getting less of it even in those adventures that were already not worth doing.
Pumpkin event was also a mix. Fish farms and Grim were welcomed and at the same time players who don't invest real money in game felt the pinch of how hard it is to get pumpkins compared to those who spent money on gems. Perhaps it was the idea..
Xmas event is a win/lose scenario. The recyclers are fantastic idea (especially since coal demand is going to rise up with weapons being removed from loot and players forced to make them now) and FM from calendar opening too. Boxes however are a waste and no guildies in my guild even bothers to buy them this year.
The one spectacular thing that everyone got excited about (Island Expansion) was... put on a back burner, with the option of "coming some time in the future.."
So to summarize: Pvp, Pumpkins and Xmas - 3x draw, combat balance and nerfed loot - 2x loss and the only 100% win goes into drawer. In case BB wonders why so many of their players feel grim about the game. O, and the atmosphere of not knowing which way the game is going and "what the heck are the devs goals..." (started by combat balance - direct quote form test) did a huge damage to the game itself. It will be felt again in 2 weeks once players are going to get less loot from adventures.
Sad and bad year in many aspects for TSO. Lets see what the new year brings

The pumpkin thing is factually incorrect. But that aside realize gems will always make things easier for those willing, as they should so the premise is faulty in itself.
Pumpkins this event were easier than ever for non gem spenders to get. The inclusion of the ability to farm them through LS or running your own adventures made them much more accessible, and created a system where the vast bulk of your pumpkins came from activity in the game rather than buying through gems. BB treated non gem spenders like a king this last event and should get full credit for allowing free play players to enjoy the event even more than normal.
Many people arn't unhappy with the loot changes either. Most rational people think removing weapons from the loot tables is a smart move and needed (just a bit late) and with the removal of weapons drops like salt and titanium will no longer be so worthless. We may find that the overall loot isn't that bad from the new tables, and should reserve judgement at this point IMO.
Agreed around pvp feeling a bit rushed, but its better to get the system in peoples hands see how they like it and build from there. They do need to take some inspiration from other successful games and evaluate how to make it competitive with things like tournaments scoreboards, challenges and rewards.
