    PVP seems dead

    I see virtually no PVP weapons on the auction house and no one in chat talking about it. Is PVP already dead?

    some are playing it on zeus, but its easy to make your own weapons quickly. not a huge market for them

    PvP is pointless, no usefull rewards for valor points and its just a resource sink. If the put a limited item in the expidition shop for valor points then i could see more people participating in it, but what do i know?

    ^^^Is true. I already bought the 5th general (which tbh is almost completely useless). As a result there is now nothing for the pvp rewards to ever be used for other than free blockers. You won't see much market for the weapons as what truehead says is right, limited quantities are needed and are easily supplied by even an unbuffed lvl 4 facility.

    I don't think it is 'dead' as when you search for a small colony on Zeus you pretty much find all have been claimed. That said the medium colonies are virtually worthless from what my explorers have found, and the large cost about x8 to take compared to a small colony... for barely double the rewards.

    So I think in limited format PVP is working for small colonies with some back and forth. (I have had 2 taken away over 8 days and been attacked at least 20 times) I do not get the impression it is remotely popular or a success though and I would tend to agree from my experience (maybe 10 colonies taken total of varying sizes) that it is a pretty lame duck system that needs extensive work. There is feedback however that would make it quite enjoyable and function able because set up properly it could provide a lot of content that would be somewhat random in nature.

    i did it for the quest and it's too MEH to keep running. and calling it PvP is a huge stretch, you don't know who you are attacking/or who is attacking you, the camps you can get can only be placed on a predetermined spot, so it more like an adventure than PvP. and to think BB made such a big deal about this and even had their secret server going by invite only. now i'm hoping BB adds a "delete marshal" option so i can finally land my other gens.

    As mentioned on test server and when this system was previewed, the economics dont support it. The rewards have no special value i.e. the valor points are basically useless only feeding into a system with no gain. The returns based upon the costs of the troops that will get killed are not even close. The additional gain of the collected resources dont make up for this difference.

    Increase the loot, increase the rewards, and make valor points valuable.

    now that BB have collected enough beta test metrics they hopefully will do something with this new system. There's some potential there, it's not all garbage.

    make islands random, allow for more freedom in placing camps, add universal valor rewards make size (of the colony) matter, revamp basic rewards (so it's worthwhile to take colonies other than titanium/granite) and it will pick up...

    and yes , let's stop using "PvP" to describe his thing...
