Ok, I get it that this "error" is mostly in our favor, and we should all be excited to have all of these extra troops to play with. However, I have just enough O.C.D. that this bothers me a great deal every time I play. I just want the game to work (and add) correctly. It has me playing with troops that I do not have rights too. A little nuts, sure, but it's like the Tell-Tale Heart for me...I know they are not mine to use. I know I will eventually have them taken away (most likely at a very inopportune moment).
"Villains!" I shrieked, "dissemble no more! I admit the deed! --tear up the planks! here, here! --It is the beating of his hideous heart!"
Or "BBs!" I shrieked, "dissemble no more! I admit the deed! -- look in my population screen! here, here! -- It is a few thousand troops that do not belong to me!"
Actually last time they fixed this bug, they didn't take the troops away from you. Instead you couldn't rebuild mines because there was no population available until you sacced your troops to fix the population bug. This has happened in the past, and that was the result. They will fix it, and at that pt for those who exploited the bug like crazy will need to sacrifice troops to get their population fixed.

problem is its nearly impossible NOT to exploit the bug accidentally - no matter what you do your island is screwed when they finally decide to fix it...
Yeah, I understand. It's not a huge issue. The thing is...I have a chaotic life. The simplicity of this game and the fact that I can control things and make things work smoothly (chains that offer Just in time fulfillment for example), is what appeals to me. I enjoy the peace of logging in and doing my maintenance, working on a few adventures and doing a little tweaking. I like that this is (was) not PVP because those bring chaos into the mix. I like that I have control over my little island.
When I log in and the chains are changed, the adventures are changed, the population is changed, etc. etc. etc. it causes me to feel like I need to clench my teeth until it's over. If it were a permanent change, I could adapt and move on. It's these constant, "will be repaired at some point" glitches that kill me.
I just want a peaceful game with a predictable outcome. That is what this game had been offering to me.
I do appreciate that the devs are trying to keep things fun by making changes occasionally. It's just the temporary, glitchy stuff that really gets me. And the fact that it seems to take so long to repair.
See it's all an O.C.D. thing for me.
This is the thing with TSO players. The amount of them who enjoy planning, predictable outcomes, balanced economy and game play is quite high in this game. It is not a surprise - this game is a lot about balance and planning. Anything disrupting the balance players create through hard work and months of playing upsets them.
The devs should take this into heart cause that is the player base and it should be respected in this way. Look what happened on test (and in game) over the "combat balance" fiasko. Dev team respect got a huge blow because of their mistaken assumptions and (lets say it frankly) ignorance about their own game and their player base. Uncertain environment and not knowing what is about to happen is not healthy for game. Game that is free with an option to spend money on it.
I don't get the problem, they temporally gave us the ability to build more troops, you don't need to build them. If you do build them build troops that die in adventures like recruits.
