New to game

Hi CarlK and welcome to the game. You're on a different server than I am (your world is Ares, mine is Zeus) so likely we won't bump into each other in game. As for friendly advice, though, I would suggest that you read these guides:

Also, save your initial coins and gems, you will need them sooner than you think as you progress in levels. Look for a good guild, check out the Guilds section here in the forums. Don't hop right into the first one you see. Look around, watch how the members conduct themselves in global chat or here in the forums, and you will get a feel for whether or not they might be your cup of tea.

It's a fun game, but just a game after all so don't take anyone or anything too seriously.

Build your economy to support your adventure venturing, once you pass the quest chains that will be your only way to get xp.
Save your gems for purchasing Building Licenses - you will need all you can get soon.
Have enough production to make self a stack of Irma's a day - than buff all vital production daily - double production makes the resources flowing fast.
Log in everyday (even for 2 min) to get free 100 gems a week.
Get into guild, guildies can help you with start up resources and knowledge, later on perhaps even loot spots on adventures they are doing.
Check Trade Office prices often and calculate what is worth making (some raw resources are worth selling more than the final product -iron, gold)
Rebuild mines and re-find marble depos daily.
Lev 2 production shop makes as much as 2x lev1 - upgrade stuff as you level to save Build Licens.

If you,re into this game for the long haul, there is almost nothing you can not achieve from within the game. But playing fast and spending cash will get the same result faster, but still to the same end.

Enjoy your time, the game is addictive and remember, if you don't achieve your goals today, you will tomorrow, or next week, or next month. Just have fun.

DO NOT spend your earned gems on useless crap like speeding the search for a deposit. Save them all for Building Licenses ONLY until you decide to purchase some gems. After completing quests asking you to build specific production shops check if it is economical to run them. Buff your stuff as much as you can. Check forums on guides for building and running your economy and clearing your island of bandits. Those will save you a lot of hassle and wondering. Get into guild for sure. For lots of level 50ies a handout of 500 marble is nothing, for you it can be a huge thing. Patience. First 15-17 levels go fast after that, game gets slower and slower

Use your questbook as an achievement rather than a how too. A good guild will help show you how to get your production balanced. If you just do what the questbook says you will most likely run into complications down the road. Production is the first thing you want to look at and work on. A balanced production on your island will enable you to not have to worry about it and be able to focus on adventures which will help you level up quickly.
