Removing weapons from loot provided a greater advantage to people who were paying to play, since they could use purchased building licenses to build weapons chains. Anyone playing for free would have a struggle with building licenses, which means they would need to pony up and buy some gems, which is likely the bottom line reason weapons were removed. Free to play games usually have limits to how far you can go before you have to start paying, so maybe this is BB's way rather than a level restriction like some games do.

You got to give to BB they give players a chance to earn 100 gems a week (simply for logging in everyday) and 100 more when you 50 for coin stars.that is 200 gems a week if you savvy - for free play. A lot of games don't give you that much...

I am not concerned about weapons for myself. I can either make enough or buy from other player if I need to. But this game got hell lot of harder for people under 50 because of that. And without new players and old ones leaving.. well you know what happens.

I have been reading guild chat from new players once they realized how much effort and time they will need to invest in this game to get to end game. Those comments were not warm and some just gave up on it. When the game designers expect you to do one epic adventure a day for 6 months straight to get 200 troops? Most players in our guild barely do 2-3 BK's a week once they are able to... Losing fun and turning into a tedious grind? Meh...

I have to agree with Plumz because I see the new players saving up those 100 gems to buy their building licenses. And to those who can buy gems..well, isn't that what BB is trying to achieve?

Also, I got to level 50 without buying premium because it didn't exist then so anyone can do it, too. My advantage of course was that I did have weapons from the loot so I didn't have to wait so long to have them to the point that I got bored waiting.
Still around from time to time.

Agreed. We know (and acknowledge) that BB has made some positive changes recently, but the facts are, as listed in previous posts in this thread, several glaring bofo's by BB. Funny thing is, I beleive that they meant to do right, but their move of removing weapons actually backfired... hurting new players and strengthening the greedy ones already obese with supplies.

FWIW, and I'm late to the party, I've invested about $500 in gems over the last three years. I try to log in every day JUST to send geos/explorers out, maybe chat a little...if I have nothing better to do I may do an advent or something, but that's becoming rare. I'm not interested in PVP, but it's a quest in my log so I started the quest chain just to get it out of there. I have 3 players left in my guild, they barely log in as well. I would LOVE to have the level cap raised just for something to do instead of twiddling my thumbs.

What's the point of raising level cap exactly?

To look better? It has no advantage over anything really. The star coins solved the level cap problem. XP converts to coins to spend.
Raising level cap they'd have to add more reason to go higher- thus delay earning star coins for a lot of players.

Those new to the game will feel like it will take even longer to reach level cap to do anything at the max level or those event quests. then they'll have to tweak event quests for the new level bracket.

raising levels is not the answer to a games content problem. it only creates new ones. look at Warcraft for example. they keep raising the level cap. and then they had to go back and make leveling up faster for the new players. used take a long time to get to 60. but because of the new level cap, they had to make getting to the cap faster. and then they had to sell 'character boost'.

once you hit max level you're gonna cry for more level cap raised. when does that end? and how does that effect new players?

Maybe they could just have a meter for how many star coins you've earned. which is the same thing as 'levels'. I mean at the end of the day it's just a number that keeps growing over time anyways right?

They could make an "Epeen" monument in the game that is just pretty- that keeps growing as you earn more star coins to spend on upgrading it. :-)

I was hoping with a max level increase, they could introduce more quest lines. ESPECIALLY those that don't involve pvp or crap quests that make you invest gems to complete. Hell, I'd be happy just with more quest lines

Something like the FTA quest series right? Meta Quest with subparts. No need to raise level cap to do that. Just require people to be level 50 to do it.

But yea. I'm with you on that. We could use new quest series and new FTA like stuff but more interesting variations with improved resources.

Or just stuff to buy with our beanstalks. Or a new building requiring beans/beanstalks + something else to produce a new resource type.

my magic castle is just always "zzzzzz"
