So far on test have done 23 prolonged searches. Each search returns 2 items. Looks pretty grim so far.

    100 Exotic Wood 7 times 15.22%

    150 Gold Bars 10 times 21.74%

    100 Gold Coins 1 time 2.17%

    60 Granite 5 times 10.87%

    30 Grout 3 times 6.52%

    40 Mahogany 5 times 10.87%

    30 Platinum 4 times 8.70%

    30 Salt Petre 5 times 10.87%

    30 Titanium Bars 6 times 13.04%

Why are exotic wood, gold bars, and gold coins even in here? It takes 1-1/2 days for this search with a savage scout. We're supposed to be getting new resources from them, not something we can either get from any adventure or produce ourselves. Sorry, but this search is bad news. I understand we have to take some bad with the good, but these items and ratios seriously need adjusting.

Edited 8/31. Here are the results of 48 prolonged searches. This would take 16 days with 3 lucky explorers or 24 days with 3 savage scouts.

    100 Exotic Wood 20 times 20.83%

    150 Gold Bars 13 times 13.54%

    100 Gold Coins 1 time 1.04%

    60 Granite 14 times 14.58%

    30 Grout 8 times 8.33%

    40 Mahogany 14 times 14.58%

    30 Platinum 12 times 12.50%

    30 Salt Petre 7 times 7.29%

    30 Titanium Bars 7 times 7.29%

Somewhat better results for Mahogany & Platinum. Grout return is frustrating. If the return rate is going to be this low, then the amount found should be higher. Aside from fishermen & storehouses, buildings require a minimum of 300 grout to upgrade. Doing 2 pine cutters and 3 foresters is 250 grout. After 48 searches (taking 16 to 24 days using a reasonable amount of explorers) have gotten 240. As it stands it's borderline sadistic to make all buildings upgradeable to 6 and then set up a horrifically long search with results like these.

Still getting way too much exotic wood, which shouldn't even be in this search.

Edited 9/2. Here are the results of 63 prolonged searches. This would take 21 days with 3 lucky explorers or 31.5 days with 3 savage scouts.

    100 Exotic Wood 24 times 19.05%

    150 Gold Bars 17 times 13.49%

    100 Gold Coins 2 times 1.59%

    60 Granite 24 times 19.05%

    30 Grout 9 times 7.14%

    40 Mahogany 16 times 12.70%

    30 Platinum 16 times 12.70%

    30 Salt Petre 8 times 6.35%

    30 Titanium Bars 10 times 7.94%

The results speak for themselves. Buy all the grout you can at every event cause these searches aren't going to get any of your buildings upgraded. Prolonged searches are a waste of time and explorers.

New levels on buildings & new quests sound great. But when you can't get i.e. enough iron to carry the demand of weapons, etc., it is futile to even try. Resource capacities of mines are ridiculously low. So low that buffing them would & is a total waste. Even if you decide to try to buy iron mine buildings in the shop, you lose the entire building if it gets drained completely. So you are constantly in a battle to try to get enough resources unless you want to buy your way to them. And you can't exactly complete quests & adventure, or do any PvP, if you can't make the items needed for them. When Daily Quests have adventures that need completed, I just hit the X to remove them because 1, they are adventures that I have already done & won't waste the troops or resources on again, & 2, they can't be completed do to not having resources to do them with. So for a lot of players, their game will get to a level that they can't advance from & eventually they will get bored & quit. In most online games, there is always a way for a player with limited income or who doesn't have the money to spend on online games, to advance, however slow, to higher levels to at least keep up with some others. Not in this game. Granite is so rare that even doing treasure searches all year, you will still only come up with enough to do a few upgrades. There should also be a way to get & complete more adventures like "The Grain Conflict", "Twin Bridges", etc. that would allow a person to get XP points so they can raise up levels. Newer players get tired of completing Gunpowder, Horseback, Sleepy Reef, etc. to try to get XP points & then have to struggle to get more troops & weapons to try to get others done, especially when the resources just aren't there to make them or upgrade buildings to get faster completion. It's a never ending struggle to get nowhere & that will kill this game eventually. I know it's a constant fight for Ubisoft to keep players interested so they will stay & spend money but with the in game experience being what it is, they will lose people even faster. I myself won't usually speak in World Chat nor join a Guild because of Trolls that ruin the game. But then you have Daily Quests that involve either doing something to a friends village or having friends do something for you. Why not have some kind of quest for the Guilds to do like recruiting new members. IN THE ENTIRE TIME I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THIS GAME, NOT ONCE HAS AN INVITATION TO JOIN A GUILD "EVER" BEEN SENT TO ME OR OFFERED. So why would a person just start to throw out applications to one that either has no room or is just filled with a group of trolls, they won't. Why would they "want" to speak in World Chat or take part in a "Trivia Challenge", they won't. Not a very good way to get people to feel wanted or an actual part of the game. Would they be able to complete Quests or adventures involving more than themselves, NO. So essentially all of these things that involve multiple players are off limits to these people & as like most, if not all, of them, they just use the "X" to eliminate them from showing in their Quest Book. Sorry this is so long but had to point these things out.

Hang in there Grumbledorf. I highly suggest joining a nice guild that can help you out. If you were on Ares I'd invite you to mine. Not that you should spam trade chat or anything, but it might be worth mentioning in there that you are looking for a home and then switch to global or whisper to chat. A lot of people don't look in global chat very often. There's also some guild ads on this forum for Zeus server with contacts that you could whisper, I'm sure they'll be happy to help.

it would be nice if we could trade some resources for gems, even if it was somewhat limited like it's currently for the star coins...

Hi! We have plenty of guilds looking in Zeus. Some might be shy at the moment as a huge influx of players are arriving. Along with previously mentioned techniques (asking in global and/or help tabs), there is a forum thread dedicated to active guilds on Zeus (as well as one for Ares - for those on that server):

    TSO Forum - Zeus Guilds

I see no less than 2 active guilds who are seeking new members, check them and and see if it might be a fit.

    Good luck to you.

unable to combine old and new units. also, anytime you go between the two pages, your general drops all his units.

That is the intention here. Your generals can lead either old or new troops into combat, but not together. The dropping of units when switching is intentional to prevent this from happening.

We meant that each week, we will publish more information in a Dev's Diary.
