For those who have been having problems with starting the new expansion islands, here is some information that may help:
There are two types of deeds. Both types can be purchased in the gem merchant in the black market section:
You are also given a free sector deed when you complete the quest "Behold the New Land":
Using the sector deed, you can unlock a single sector on the top portion of island archipelago:
The sector has a limited amount of placement options, just enough for the placement of an island storehouse and a single general. You must place an island storehouse (located in the island section of the building tab) in order for the sector to be owned. As shown above, you can purchase six additional sector deeds in the gem merchant using beanstalks, to be used on the additional bandit occupied sectors once they are cleared.
This is the island storehouse on the build menu, on the 5th tab. It is needed to own a sector and allow you to place buildings or generals.
Island Deed, which can be purchased with gems, are used to unlock other areas, as shown below. There are a total of three island deeds that can be purchased, and two of these islands can be discovered immediately:
The island on the Southwest side of the archipelago (upper image) does connect with the combat area, and can be used to place generals to attack the enemy camps in the first sector. Island storehouses also must be placed in order for the islands to be usable. There are three island deeds available in the gem merchant. There is a third island that cannot be revealed until the adjacent area is controlled, and can be claimed using an island deed once the fifth bandit sector is cleared.
The additional sectors are shown below. To access these sectors, they must be cleared of bandits, a sector deed used to open it, and an island storehouse placed to allow additional buildings to be placed.
