Too long to remove excess military from Barracks

Once upon a time, before some of the recent upgrades, you could click off about 4 military units at a time when there is an excess of one type in the barracks and you need to move up another type.

No longer. You can click on one at a time and then it takes 20~30 seconds for it to drop off. Trying to kill off 25~30 recruits or bowmen to move up elites for completion takes way too long!

Why do we get some improvements only to have other nice features disappear?

Why for the same reason while at work if you are about to have an audit you leave some fairly obvious, minor things messed up. The auditors find those, meet their quota, feel good about themselves and go home. Not noticing the horrible violations you have hidden slightly out of view.
