Most total collectibles I've seen in a spawn is 13. I often have zero pumpkins per spawn.

Hmm, not sure what this post was all about. Braggadocio? Salt in the wounds to those who are getting the short end? Based on other text only entries, some folks ARE getting plenty enough to likely complete the 100 pumpkin collection (as I am as well). This thread was generated, and has plenty of other player who are clearly not getting a decent share of collectibles.

I got my 100th spawn this morning, so not all hope is lost!
After 2 drops today, pumpkin count jumped by 3 up to 51... 6d, 21h remaining... Not looking good.
Terrible algorithm. A view of some of the islands getting lots of collectibles (21+/drop) I noticed barren islands seem to average more collectibles than 'full' islands. Bit of a disadvantage to higher levels, it would seem. I's still waiting to see a drop of more than 13 during this event.

It has been known for some time that collectibles can be blocked by the placement of decorations. This method is used by some to corral their collectibles to specific locations. The drawback is that seems the algorithm will only use a maximum percentage of the available spots; so if enough spots are blocked, the total number of collectibles may be capped out. The obvious solution to this is to remove all unnecessary decorations, or even buildings that are unneeded - including maximizing the number of generals in the star menu. For higher levels, making sure you have found as many of the island areas is important as well, as it gives many potential places for collectibles to spawn, even when the portions are not player controlled.
Interestingly, both my Zeus and Ares account completed the achievement literally on the same spawn group. Another in my guild finished the day before, as did my sister; both players would be considered lower levels. My wife completed her's today. This may indicate there is a more or less constant rate over time, with the total achievement planed on being doable using only roughly two of the three collectible spawns per day. Increasing the collectible spawn to max requires the account to stay online for more time, so the spawn will trigger at the time rather than waiting for the player log in.
As it can now be shown, it is possible for the achievement to be reached. It is not bugged to prevent anyone from doing it, and players can do it with sufficient understanding and work. Personally, for the achievement system not to be (more of) a joke, there have to be some that are very difficult, if not impossible, to do. For the current event, the other achievements barely make it past the 'I was there' level of difficulty.
