I like this idea. I'd love to be able to build the fields, wells and mines on my way home from work so I can have more time for other game-play features like adventures. And it would be great to have the chat module to stay in touch with guildies and friends who are in different time zones.

There is one browser for Android called Photon Browser. It can handle Flash, which almost all other browsers can't display. TSO is playable, but not well because of the interface. It's fine for minor things like maintain your bookbinder & build fields, but I wouldn't try to do advs with it. Because of the massive amounts of data it's using, your phone will heat up quickly and the battery will drain like there's no tomorrow. But, it is an option for emergencies. I don't know how Photon works with tablets, probably better than phones.

Puffin is tolerable {very slow and no blocks on adventures} on my iPad, but it did not work on my android phone.

    Hello,

    Thanks everyone for helping Doderia.

We don't have any plans to release a mobile version of The Settlers Online.

As mentioned above, some web browsers are able to process Flash content on mobile devices, allowing you to access the game. Please keep in mind that playing TSO on mobile devices is not officially supported and that your experience may not be optimal.

The idea is that you never leave your computer.

Puffin works on my Android phone (nexus 5x), but it's extremely difficult to move around and do anything. It's good for checking in, sending out explorers, putting up buildings, and checking mail. I have no patience to attempt adventures on it. Even chat is difficult.

So you don't want ppl to be more involved in the game? I am just curious because this seems like a good way to EXPAND settlers and get more people to play who may not have access to a cpu all the time.

"As is obvious, the more platforms you cover, the more people you’ll be able to reach. With Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android competing for top positions worldwide, the number of smartphone users for these systems is increasing day by day. Developing an application that runs on both iPhone and Android gives you the added advantage of tapping into greater market potential."

"When you have a larger fan base, marketing becomes easier in the sense that you don’t have to create niche messages to cater to a specific set of people. You have the liberty of marketing the application on various media and through generalised messages for the masses."

"It is easier to maintain and deploy changes when you’re developing one application that runs across all platforms. Updates would immediately get synced across all devices and platforms. Further, with tools like Appcelerator and PhoneGap, it becomes easy to handle one team of developers working on a single multi-platform app than several teams working on different platforms."
