I couldn't get the event to come up. Logged completely out, cleared cache..... nothing worked. Then I visited a friends island and viola!!! the event started for me.

It's decided I'm allowed to see the event stuff finally now (after coming home from an adv) but very little actually works. No quests, advent calendar doesn't pop up, nothing in the middle of my island. Not touching the event shop till they sort this mess out as I'm not sure what would happen.
Same for me. If I visit somewhere else and come back, the event starts but nothing works. My explorers don't bring home presents. I don't have an event quest and I can't open the first door of the calendar. I hope BB compensates us with presents that we've missed out on with treasure searches.
Yep, I was too hasty. Now that I've tried to do a few things, nothing is working. And if I refresh, I lose the event altogether and have to visit someone again for it to come back...... and not work. LOL......

My event has started...however...all of the buffs that are needed are being made in the PH. GREAT! If I want to buff the PH I have to use up my gems and I really can't afford to do that. Soooo, how about it devs, give us buffs for the PH that don't need gems? Otherwise there will be lots of people who won't complete the xmas event at all...I could be one of them. Just because I'm at a lvl below 50, I shouldn't be penalized for it in these events.
I eventually got the calendar to show the contents of the first door but never went into my star menu. I logged out and back in and the door is shut again...
I thought the event will pop tomorrow after maintenance. Was really surprised t see it BAM! out of nowhere. I guess BB wanted to surprise us, and they did!
Guess now we know who the bad boys and girls are this year

DITTO... Was logged in when event became available but did not appear for me... Long story short: logged-out, deleted files, re-logged with both IE and Chrome (twice) event graphic showed while loading but no event appeared or "started" and no Merchant Tab for the event or Mayor's cookery for event collectibles...
Visited another island and event started, screen timer and Star Menu graphics appeared... Mayors collectible cookery options appears as well as Merchant event tab but even though graphics indicate purchase and move to Star Menu etc., no sound effect or deduction from Gem total and nothing appears in Star Menu...
Same problems with event calendar and Production House as detailed in other posts above...
Also collectible appeared after Event Started notice but not one event related collectible showed up on home island...
Did I mention that I already have enough lump of Coal and that this is Lame? lol
Can we get a BB response as to when this will be corrected?
Tickets have been submitted... Seeking a fix for this bug ASAP Please!
