Christmas event starts early for some, but not all

Add me to the list of appearing and disappearing event. Visit someone and it shows up, log out and back in and its gone, nothing works when it is there. Hope this is resolved before we miss the first day of the calendar!

For those who haven't yet, try logging out completely for at least 15 minutes and clearing your cache and cookies while you're out. The downtime gives the game time to reset and often helps.

Another one chiming in that the event is broken for them. I can visit someone's island and get it to start but no collects, calendar doesn't work, and explorers don't find presents. Essentially all I can do is make the gifts for the adventures that need them and view event shop. Yes I logged off for over 15 minutes. Doesn't work. Event is gone upon logging back in. I hope something is done for us as it's totally not fair that we are getting a late start.

Note that this was not the case when the event started at 'maintenance'; why the change unless you can actually implement it fairy. So, while many players were able to get their first spawn of collectibles last night, it took over 3h for me to even get the event started, and with the drop rate f collectibles I'm getting since the Pre-Halloween change, I probably have no chance to complete the achievements.

Per the Dev Diary, it was supposed to go live at midnight GMT, which is 7pm eastern time in the US. So, it was supposed to come to everyone before maintenance. This is different than previous events.

It wasn't working for me, so I logged out for a while (was probably like 25-30 minutes); when I came back it was live for me last night. Maintenance is a forced logout for everyone, so that probably fixed the ones the remaining people with issues.
