Never mind try to have a lively chat in Global.
The future of this game looks bleak.
I imagine once it stops making enough money, they will just shut down the servers and leave us hanging.
It seems unlikely anyone plays out of love of the game or sheer enjoyment.
Methinks most who do not leave have simply invested too much money to do so.
I just have nothing better to do. You can only browse Imgur (and porn) so much. I found this by chance when it was advertised at another game I used to play. I played both for awhile, and then the other shut down when it couldn't squeeze any more money out of people. I've yet to stumble upon anything better that may actually be around awhile. I want to invest a few years into a game, not just a few months.

    I hear you.
I've invested 5 years so far.
    It's a pleasant past-time.
I've tried to learn to set my expectations extremely low with this game so as not to be continually disappointed.

Pinkleet - Though wholly accurate, this post is way too long. No person who actually makes a decision on the future of TSO will read it; soon as they see it scroll past the first screen, they're done. I did appreciate the warning to grab the popcorn!

I do feel for those noobs to the game. Now, veteran players will be very limited as to how much they can help them. ES is correct, most vet players will grind on with their investments in the back of their mind so long as the servers are not shut off.

Ornias is also correct, what happens on the Euro servers is what apparently really matters, specifically the German servers. We (North American) servers number two (2); Last count, the Germans have 14, Poland has at least 7, France and Russia each have 2 and the list goes on (TSO Server List). So, our input may be the minority; my real issue with this, all along, has been communicating things to us. BTW - TO is a MUCH gentler place on the European servers... Seems that they don't need to send their children to college based on the profits they garner from TSO trades.

SweaterPuppies also has a good point with the Test Server and its associated forum: Absolutely no feedback as well as modified/deleted posts and threads make it discouraging for players to not only take time out to work on the Test Server but to provide screenshots, document and post the discovered failures/bugs. I barely go on there any longer, mostly just to glimpse a view on upcoming events, but feedback, no longer.

    Back to forging on....

To be honest I wrote this just as a memory of past events. The result of the of “New combat balance” disaster actually helped the game tremendously. Devs were confronted with the reality of the market – free or not if people don't like the direction the game is going – players will leave. So, many positive changes did happen after the storm from last year.

I am a big fan of automating production on my island and minimizing chores. The new buildings (improved) are great for this task. Game got quite few cool features over last year. With the expansion islands and granite/salt/titanium deposits on them the 2nd last choke point was removed. The last one being the grind of xp

As much as I don't like the grind, it is a progression, giving us something to do. Besides, we who have been playing for years, don't appreciate the game as new players do. We got a couple of new people in guild recently and it is quite refreshing to “see” the game through their eyes. I actually had some fun explaining few things to newbies. Not that I am such an expert in this game, but new players often make some silly mistakes or misunderstand somethings about the game play.

New players are often excited about the first few levels (fast speed). If they like the game and can stand the slower pace of it after level 16 – who knows, they might stay. I certainly helped one or two made that decision. So did others including the devs by making the game better

Waiting on the new ship to sail to harbor to see how those quests are playing.

The SHIP is L70 though haha

The Airship thing is another story, but that looks pretty cool overall.

I already gave up on the 70 ship. Unless there will be some help in the grind there is no way I can commit such amount of time to do tedious advies to get to 70. I mean if that was done in a year time - maybe. But with my schedule I am practically looking at 3-5 advies a week. In one year I might be able to do 3-4 levels at those numbers...

But I am looking at the air ship, so far people say good things about it

Haven't read all of the comments, but we should matter most. According to Ubisoft's earnings and sales report. Their biggest earnings and sales percentage comes from North American, not Europe. Europe is second and this has been consistent for 2014/2015, 2015/2016 including third quarter report for 2015/2016. I didn't finish reading to see what platform brings them the most sales, but we are still their biggest customers. Europe is second. Their earnings and sales report is posted online for public viewing.

True, though it is not from TSO sales, I would bet very heavily on that. Most sales/revenue is likely from their other flagship games such as Farcry(xxx), Assassin's Creed and the like (they have MANY games out there).

Though our (US Servers) is probably spending more on a % of active player basis as we are a more growing audience (this is speculation on my part based on conversations with not only local players but many players on one of the German servers), and I agree that our voice should be heard (read many of my posts from the past on this same issue throughout this forum), the fact is, we are a minority, and if the rest of the TSO world does not play the way we do and/or has different tastes, guess what? Majority rules.

I have very much enjoyed this game until recently. I have also invested far too much time and money to walk away incomplete and I'm seeing 50 as the end. They could add a million levels and it doesn't matter to me. I just want to hit the old end point and get out. But the developers so grossly want to manipulate and control every aspect it is rapidly becoming impossible to advance at all. "A couple of adventures a week" bull crap. The past few months I can't even do 1 a month anymore. This is rapidly becoming nothing more than a high priced color forms set that doesn't even allow for us to choose the spot we want our little colored pieces to go in. Its like a super overpriced paint by numbers, one that tomorrow you may find you no longer have red and if the game maker finds out we are no longer using red in our patterns they will take the blue away the day after to make us pay. Yeah I know they want us to cash buy items. Go ahead buy them and sit back and watch them devalue your cash purchase until it is absolutely worthless and you regret purchasing it. Real fun game...something worth spending real cash on. Methinks they don't care about their reputation or that so many on steam aren't only bashing this game but Blue Byte. Methinks they don't mind at all that the two most spoken phases about this game and its developer by steam users are "Blue Byte ****s" and Blue Byte ****s balls." I am embarrassed to tell my gamer friends I play here.

Man level 50 will never come fast enough because they will not allow me to be able to hit it and at least feel as though all those hundreds of dollars and thousands of hours weren't in vain. Real fun game. :/

Never...EVER...will I start on another BB game. Always and FOREVER will I share the experience I had here with everyone and anyone.
