My dearest Witch of the swamp the cost in troops defeating you has always been high. And your rewards never that great. But there is satisfaction and pride when I storm your Island. And you and your kind show up in many of my travels and battles. But I’m not impressed or will not fear you. Because I have A general and he is battle hardened and he enjoys knocking downs your walls and tower. So I will be seeing you again real soon
Your foe pittyness…

Dear Evil King,
So you thought you would defeat the valiant Little Tailor and show your subjects who was really the most powerful in the land? You failed to consider the Little Tailor's friend, me. Although that's not too surprising, for such as you don't really have friends, only obsequious toadying subjects who obey you out of fear.
But your forces have all been slain now. You alone remain in your castle. And Major General Stanley's troops are rallying for the final attack. Hear the singing growing louder as they approach - "I am the very model of a Modern Major General!" Soon it will all be over.
Swords clash, cannons boom ... and finally all is silent. The Evil King is no more. I wonder if he believes in reincarnation? Do you think he knows he's doomed to relive this experience over and over and over again?
haha!

Dear Theodor,
I am not sure exactly how to tell you this so I am just going to come right out with it. Get a job. I am tired of supporting you.
Love, you annoyed sibling.

To the Guilds on Grain Island
You need to learn to share for what good is bread with out brew & a feast at harvest time is a sight to be seen. However if I keep coming to negotiate your trading I feel I should receive more rewards as squabbling children are not my favorite thing to deal with.

Dear Wild Mary,
Thy visage would make a saint shudder, but I shall persevere and smite thee again and again! My steel swords are mightier than thy furrowed brow! Await my return in fear.

Dear King,
Just a quick note to keep you informed on the evolutions on my island. As always the troops have been very busy doing adventures. The explorers searching for goodies in unexplored and far away territories. The geologists looking for the best mines to mine. (yes the resources we need to keep the economy running). And the normal settler running the day to day business. This brought the island a lot of experience and even a new level.
The laborious explorers, brought back a rare grayish metal ore. They called it platinum. At first we thought the metal is useless. But it has some specific properties we cannot deny. It is a very shiny and appealing metal, it does not rust whatever conditions you store, it is conducting heat very efficiently and it has a tremendous high melting point.
One of our settlers built a special smelting oven. Indeed we need a special smelting oven to handle the Platinum ore and he was able melting blocks of it. And now we are researching if we can turn the blocks into exquisite weapons.
And this brings us to the next point. On our adventures on the archipelago islands near our main island we came across new opponents that have significantly more power and are withstanding our elite soldiers and cannoneers with ease. Sometimes we need over 1000 recruits to get rid of a few hundred opponents.
To tackle this problem, our very best damascene smith is now researching on making better weapons with the new metal. Personally I think he is a bragger and I do not really trust him. I saw him last week in the Trade Office instead in his workplace and was talking with a foreign trader. I think he will just claim monstrous quantities of Platinum bars, sell them to a japanese trader, get samourai swords in return and keep the profit. I cannot prove it yet and I do not care. As long as the swords are good and give a moral boost to our settlers, who cares.
I will keep track on the evolutions in this domain my King and I feel we are at the edge of a real breakthrough. I will invest the utmost time into researching this and this makes that I have less time to maintain the island. Could it be that You have some improved silos around in your vast kingdom You can spare me? It would save me a lot of time to research new fields every time and would thus indirectly support the research going on here. A deerstalker or improved farm would be useful as well.
Looking forward reading from You my King,
Your humble servant,
Fsd

Dear Theodor,
It saddens me that we do not see as much of each other as when we were children. Those carefree days playing in the wheat fields. Do you recall the day you stole one of the King’s horses and rode through the friary? Or the time you washed all the explorers’ white britches with red socks? Perhaps you remember the time you bought that strange potion from the witch in the swamp and turned all the livestock on the island into Unicorns? No one had the heart to kill them – we lived on bread and fish for a week!
The one thing that taints these sweet memories is the knowledge that in each of these instances and many more besides, the blame fell squarely on me. Every time you were in trouble, I came to your rescue. Somehow, no one ever believed you capable of mischief and I ended up paying the price.
But I have always kept your secret. Only you and I know the truth.
I would have been satisfied to let the past stay comfortably in the past if not for this recent bout of ridiculous requests you have sent my way. Send weapons, send troops, find me a replacement Capuchin monkey … How you manage to entangle yourself in such ludicrous predicaments is beyond my comprehension. Must I always be coming to your rescue? Am I forever to be bailing you out?
I have come to the only reasonable conclusion – you must be left to make your own way. To find your own solutions. Perhaps it is my fault. By always being there for you I have robbed you of the many chances you would have had for growth. But I shall rob you no more. Prove to the world, Brother, that you have inside you what it takes to succeed. Find your way and learn to be a leader, learn to be a man!
Dearest Theodor, do not take this as anything other than an expression of my deepest love for you. I shall continue – as I always have done – to keep your secrets. But should you serve me with any further requests for assistance due to yet another hair-brained, knuckle-headed scheme of idiocy, you can rest assured –
I am going to tell Mother.
Your loving Sibling

Dearest Folks back home.
We made it to our new home, it is as beautiful as Roarke [ aka lucky explorer ] said it was, and he and his friends all keep bring back the most marvelous treasure, gold coins, special buffs we can use on our production buildings, need them to find a few to help our Generals.
The poor men and the troopers are fighting hard to claim more land and to keep us safe from the many bandit camps, leaders with name like Metal tooth, One eyed jack, and really who wants to be called Wild Mary. Such horrid people they kill so many of our brave young troopers, and seriously wound our Generals, who should get rewarded with medals or some thing. Then the crazy army go on these so called adventures to other Island to help kill the bandits there cause they are asked to help, some times the pay is really good but some times it is just not worth the lives of our brave troops.
Back to happier news. Our Geologist are so thrilled to have new minerals to find they go out yodeling, in joy. They find mines of gold, and much needed resources like copper, iron and marble. then there are the woods, pine, hardwood, and the beautiful Mahogany. Our craftsmen are so pleased to have such finds to work with.
Sigh I do miss the live stock, cows, chickens, hogs and goats. We do have wild game the hunters bring it in a lot of deer meat, we all make tons of deer sausage, the Explorers take it with them on their long hunts so they don't have to waste time hunting for food.
Wish we had a few more fruit trees , cherries are good and make a lot of pies, cobblers with them, apple , peaches, bananas and maybe some nut trees would help.
I must go, have to help make more sausage, and then roll more bandages for the Medipacks, we use a lot of those. will write again when have time.
Take care and stay safe.
love lora
