Explorer not finding any colonies to choose from but dies

Happened today and yesterday. Sent exp out on expedition search. he dies for the hour or more but I do not get any colonies to choose from.

Happens a crap ton with lag as I've noticed, may or may not have been your case....things you want to avoid when doing it, including but not limited to....

- You just returned from afk ready to "click and move" around.
- You just zoned from friends island or adventure.
- You are picking up collectibles, inbetween or right at the end doesn't matter much, once you are finished with them, chill for a bit.
- You razed a building (wells, exhausted wells, whatever).
- You notice any king of mini freezing (usually can not move camera and anything clicked will take a bit to respond) followed by a fast forward.
- Your Generals are landing at the home zone.
- You just chain buffed, similar to collectibles.
- You diddindu nuffin wrong but BB felt like aggrevating you at the moment.
