Player birthday and anniversary

Premise: The Settlers Online is not a quick game and there are many people (I am curious how many) that have remained with the game for years, not just building their island but helping to build the community. These individuals especially, I feel, should be acknowledged and celebrated in some way.

Proposition: There are two possibilities here, both the players birthday as well as the players anniversary date in game that can be celebrated.

On the eastern coast of the main island there are two small islands (sector 9 and sector 3) that see no activity, and so I propose that one be designated 'Birthday Island' and the other 'Anniversary Island'.

On the appointed day, on the appointed island, a cake building would appear (no need to number the birthday as some take that personally) that would provide a small bonus to all island production that day. As well, when the celebrating individual clicks on the cake they receive their present. Birthday presents would be the same each year, but anniversary presents should increment each year.

Also, visiting players can click on the cake to receive a birthday/anniversary buff token of some kind.

It should be noted that there was a time where TSO sent (email registered players, and FB too I believe) emails with vouchers for some nice little gift packages on their birthday.

So many people that I have chatted with think this is a great idea and yet here on the forum less than 1/2 a percent of the viewers deem it worth a comment. *sigh*

Two issues come to mind:

1. Many (most?) Zeus and Ares TSO players do not even frequent the forums, much less participate in them. This is unlike the other servers where a much higher percentage number of players do get involved. (Think US voter turnout... )
2. I am guessing that a lot of accounts (many active) are duplicate/alt accounts and/or accounts which have not validated their email for whatever reason (perhaps because they cannot). Non-validated accounts are not permitted to post/interact in the forum, though they may view it.

Neither of those issues apply to the (currently) 343 individuals who have viewed this post.

I'm thinking we should get some sort of personalized award on each anniversary, as it should be in the game's records. The game doesn't ask for birthdays though, so many people would be unaware of any birthday bonus.
