Perhaps it is easy to have such a low need for 'insta gratification' when it comes naturally:

Lucky you... Lost count, but somewhere between 17 and 21 here... Frustrating was not the word.

Completely agree, perhaps the eventual want (not need) of the Tome Recipe, use your RPH to cough out manuscripts, the Bookbinder (assuming LvL6 here and occasional buffs) can keep up with most players needs for Tomes and Codices. And having witnessed the ridiculous stacked randomness required to attain the manuscript recipe, I have no (zero, nada, nil) interest in pushing the double-layered slot machine for more stuff. Just gonna take what the allotted crystals provide.

Im 0-7 so far . Start with crystals get close as I can with them then finish off with gems if necessary, so I don't notice the big gem drain as much.Doing my 8th now.

I wouldn't call BB greedy for the simple fact that no one has to spend money to get far in the game, just time. There's nothing you can't (very eventually) get without spending any money. Stingy? Yeah, sometimes. Unbalanced prices? Yeah, some things.

I've played games where they would have extremely epic heroes with equally epic armor/weapons that cost $300+ real money, which were so unbalanced that the army they commanded could completely wipe out dozens of "non-spender" armies by themselves with all the bonuses they gave.

Honestly, unless they are planning to expand the book system to generals (and given that it's been years since they even touched the Science System, I really doubt it'll ever happen), I really don't see any need for the other recipes at all. I don't really care if I ever get the manuscript one even. I'm to the point of unconsciously hoarding stuff I'll never need. Getting more bonus resources from explorers isn't necessary.

0-7, my guildie got it in 1, sigh. Now for the last 4-5 days parts have stopped dropping, around 10% over that time.

The irony is that after a year and a half of running my bookbinder buffed, I don't even really need any more manuscripts, but I'm sure I'll find some use for them eventually.

I also spent some money when I first started and have more gems than I need from pits but am satisfied now with what I can get as rewards just by playing regularly and grabbing good stuff during events.

Sad thing is, if the odds to get it are 10% or something, that means a 90% chance to not get it... after 40 runs (0.9)^40 = 0.01478 you still have over a 1.4% chance of not having it....

Does anyone know what the odds actually are? I don't want to depress Raub more than necessary if the odds are >10%
