The change affects all adventures found by an explorer which previously had the quest missing.
Yup, these new quests are going to get you "on average more daily crystals"... that is if you do not cancel them all because of how horrible they are. Goodbye using the Excelsior. It was fun while it lasted.

The first day of the new daily quests I had to pay 25 recruits, 18 bowman & 9 militia for 5 crystals. Wasn't a big deal. The quest could have been to run SE or BK or DB like the old dailies did, in which case it wouldn't be worth it to me. But trading a small handful of troops instead of having to run an adventure seems like a good thing rather than a bad one.
If somebody has the manuscript recipe and is cranking out 8 to 12 manuscripts per day, paying two of them for 7 crystals might not seem so bad, depending on how often that quest comes up. If you don't have the manuscript recipe yet, yeah, it stinks.
Guess it's all a matter of perspective and/or if you've gotten that darn manuscript recipe yet, but I'd rather get 5 or 7 crystals than 3 or 4. It's all just pixels anyway.

... which probably isn't too terrible if you have manuscript recipe ... but for those of us who don't due to the way it's randomly (NOT) given out ...
I can live with occasional 'pay 2 manuscripts' even though I usually only produce 1 a day. It won't occur much. Right now I'm just sort of collecting stuff for the eventual general skill tree anyway.
I have more manuscripts than I need right now, but I'll live without the crystals rather than giving them up.
i got the "pay 2 manuscripts" one today ... "luck decided" that I would ... promptly delete it
