COA: Anslem vs Vargus

ive heard so many things in the past, skill tree for generals and home island for example...you never know
but doesnt make sense having you pick 1 now if you can get all later

Gold towers are different.. You can get four in shop...
Imagine this - Evil picks Vargus, and makes all his guides with Vargus...
New player joins the game, and looks for guides.. Find's Evil's guides of course.. loves them so much, and wants to use them...

But then, realizes that there is one Gen, which s/he doesn't have , and perhaps will never have.....
You get the idea I hope

I think this game will end, if BB makes a special general available only during a point in time, and never again...
Doesn't make sense to me... This is not beta memorial or other buildings we are talking about...
A general is very important part of the game.. and it just doesn't make sense to me, to not make them available for players who join later (or even those who have been playing)..

As for the choice during this event, only reason to pick I can think of is, you'd get 3+1.. so Yes, a choice during this event does make sense, if I want 2 Anslem, 1 Vargus, 1 Nausala.... vs 1 Anslem, 2 Vargus, 1 Nausala.. etc..

EDIT: But then, BB sometimes does defy common sense

If the MMA is 7k gems, odds are these new generals will be up around there too. So it is probably best to pick thinking this will be the only new general you get.

After Jan 1st ill add vargus to some guides, and share my best current versions for some of those adventures, more precisely, ill post my best guides with vargus included for the following:
- All 5 FTs
- WC, all thiefs, wisdom


with time ill it to the rest of the babas (knowledge, sinbads and aladdins), and to ventures

If our definitions of "with time" are that far apart, I guess I'll shut up lol

Now that I actually have Anslem here's how a few adventures worked out for me:

3rd Thief: I was able to replace a major with Anslem on 4 camps and substantially reduce time spent waiting on generals walking. Completed 2 of them in 1 hour and 54 or 55 minutes each, including travel time. Cut my barracks time down by 7.88 hours.

Beautiful Princess: Again substantially cut walking time by subbing Anslem for a major in seven attacks and finished in 1 hour and 35 minutes. Next time will be even shorter since 1:35 included retreating a botched attack several minutes into the walk there. Cut barracks time by 10.86 hours.

YWC: Cut barracks time by 3.86 hours. Once I remember to bring a few extra MM and KN I'll be able to shave a few minutes off of run time as well.

Overall figuring this stuff out has been a lot of fun! Hope everybody is enjoying their choice of general as much as I am mine.

found 23.3h in oil lamp full run with vargus
only 3.3h on short and 5.3h on med though

26h on sea snake, also with the addition of 2 stacked blocks, was 17h before adding those blocks
10h on besieged

princess have not looked yet
not so bad against sailors this vargus guy

I picked Anslem too, is same, for my style of playing as well.. meaning to mess with...
I think BB will make the other 's available soon...
Vargus genl will be my next one to get...
