The only explorers I've booked completely are the Lucky Explorers, my Intrepid, and my 3 old school Experienced Explorers. The others just have manuscripts mostly. Since I always run out of stuff to get in events before they are done, I don't really plan to book any more of them, save for any future Lucky or other special explorers I can get.

I fully booked all my explorers and geologists in about a year and a half with a bookbinder, but yeah, it's no small feat and the closest thing to a shortcut is the manuscript recipe. Of course, every time I think I'm finished, I get more specialists, though I'll happily take them.

I'm more concerned about to what extent I can actually utilize killing more troops without backing up my elite barracks, although Evil is at like level 71 and manages, so maybe I don't have that much to worry about.

Cleave is only affecting the normal unit named "Elite Soldier".
    ... cleave is bad.
    LOL

Trash then. Going by the grammar and stuff, the Elite Soldier not being elite soldiers made cleave sound about being elite troops and not that regular E dude. Well, we already know their problems with descriptions alright.

but elites are used enough that splash might just be worth it for both event grinding epics and Tailors. I would not rule it out for the other 2 after garrison for MG until some more testing is done.

15 Extra units in any general beats whatever extra damage an elite soldier might get in my book any day.
    One army. Pretty please.

    LIES!

There is not. I certainly don't have one, after 4-5 months of non-stop trying.

Oh man Eriond.... I feel so bad for you. I was totally frustrated with it taking 10 tries, can't imagine how you must feel.

The general skill tree looks pretty awesome. A couple of skills are kinda “meh….” but mostly they're useful. So here's what I think……...

Rapid Fire: Don't overlook this skill if you do a lot of bow sacs against Bears, Boars, Royal Militia, etc. Giving bowmen 55 max dmg makes them almost as powerful as longbows and should result in better sacs against these denizens of Fairy Tale & Evil Queen adventures. There are times I'll use 200 longbows just to kill a few extra bears. Maybe now I won't need to. I use the same few generals for sacs most of the time so plan on giving this skill to them. Main attacker gens, no.

Navigation: Giving this skill only to tavern gens means everybody arrives at roughly the same time. 3 tomes and a tav gen arrives in 16.5 minutes, a minute and a half after everybody else. I see postings about giving this skill to everyone. It might have it's merits, but people also might still be twiddling their thumbs waiting on blockers to arrive if fast and tav generals both get the skill. Just something to think about. Depends on play style, obviously.

Confident Leader: Yeah!!! Attacker generals with rounds that last 7 seconds instead of 10 makes some iffy blocks a lot more solid.

Just a Flesh Wound: The name gave me a good laugh. Will probably give a few of my sac gens this one. Healing in an hour and 24 minutes instead of 2 hours will be helpful on a few bigger adventures. Or I could get more generals and stop waiting so I can finish LOL.

    Sniper Training: Great for Nusala!

Unstoppable Charge: Giving Knights splash dmg (100% with three tomes) seems like a pretty good thing to me. In combination with Battle Frenzy should be pretty powerful. Anslem seems to favor the use of Knights, so he's definitely getting it.

Battle Frenzy: Damage of entire army increases by 30% after each round (with 3 tomes. 10% per tome). Yeah!!!

Jog: meh……. The speed increase is pretty underwhelming. Anyone who does blocks will need to have enough books to give this skill to all/most of their generals at once, which might be a bottleneck for quite a few people.

Garrison Annex: Adding 5-10-15 troops to max level is pretty awesome, especially for the CoA gens. Vets will be closer to Majors……

Weekly Maintenence: Meh…. adding a little dmg to beseigers might be ok for Anslem since he's limited in troop numbers, otherwise…

Master Planner: Looks like the best top tier skill for main attacker generals. Giving elite troops 100% accuracy?? Yeah!! Combined with Battle Frenzy & Unstoppable Charge? F Yeah!!

Lightening Slash: At first glance looks kinda sexy, but Master Planner is ultimately more powerful. And it won't work for sac gens. Since the 2nd attack is last strike, they'll usually be dead before they can hit a 2nd time.

1-Up: Kinda like Gwalben's idea of giving this to all his MMA's & Nusala since they are mostly used for sacs. Gotta admire that gambler streak.

That's why I said after adding the garrison using the other 2 codex spots for elites. I guess I just did not say it clearly enough is all.

For the high cost and length of time it takes to make anything to do with the science tree. I don't plan to do anything with gens until geo's and scouts are all done. As I don't use gems to finish any of that, it'll take a very very very very long time before I can consider gens.
