There is also another way to know. Click on your general and when it brings up his loadout screen, hover the mouse over his picture and a screen giving a detailed list of his skills, abilities and stats pops up. You will easily see who walks at what speed or has what skill. Same as when you hover over their picture in the star menu, it will show little icons that represent the skills you gave them.

The "problem" with that is us folks who grind the same adventures over and over again and go on autopilot mode. This may be a misclick here sending the Gen to the wrong camp, intentional intercept or not, fail assigning troops, forgetting to re-load your transfered Gen, failin to double check the numbers after sending due to lag etc...thusly, now a new factor would be moving a General to a certain spot but having grabbed the wrong one. Lucky if you notice and correct the mistake, still a burden because setting up a camp/take down takes some 40 bloody seconds of your already annoyed situation before you need to waste another 40s bringing the other Garrison there. Nevermind when you missed your spot by 1/2 a position and gotta move twice yet again :|

That problem will obviously "go away" if they are skilled the same way/all at once, otherwise you either gotta hover to find out or waste brain memory retaining that info of which Gen has which skills lol

i didnt sim anything yet, the sim i use doesnt have skill tree integrated yet, its just intuition, but re-simming blocks is not a problem.
giving jog to all gens is the problem, a 30% instead of 20 faster walking would be more appropriate, also it should be on the bottom tier instead of that stupid homeland skill, this way it would be alot easier to give this skill to all gens

The main problem I see with the jog skill is that if you need to use all of your generals of a given 'type' on an adventure you may wind up being stuck waiting at times for generals to recover because you don't have the right set available at a given time. I run into this often enough right now. I'm not going to do anything to increase the occurrences of this.

Saving 30 seconds walking here or there or maybe getting in a new block is nothing if you're sitting around 2 to 4 hours waiting for generals to recover while other generals sit idle because they 'walk wrong.'

First thoughts.... you had me at fast travel to adventures.... the rest of it is just gravy.

So my day one goal is all gens with fast travel to adventures, 5 manus and 3 tomes per regular gen, and will ignore the QM's for now. Manus will go 2 in the bow damage skill and 3 in the lower boss HP skills, although it's tempting to use 2 books on +dmg and chance of splash for majors, mma and CoA since I will never ever block with those three gen types (I do block with drac sometimes, don't ask). Yes I know CoA and MMA already have splash, but since no damage is wasted on splash attacks... the extra 10-20 will count somehow.

Seriously, the one thing we have always wanted, is less real life time just waiting to start running the adventures, and more time running the adventures.

And a tagging gen? Tagging with a fast gen with 3 tomes in navigation gets you 8:15 travel time by my math, so about 10 minutes instead of 17 the get there and start walking... seven more minutes saved.

Other than a better low-level skill for manus, there are enough choices that i like, I will easily use all my books and wish I could use a few more tomes per gen.

Sorry global chat, can't troll you now, I have adventures to run.

Of course, I name ALL my specialists...

You're not that much of a noob having a forum date of JAN2013... but I do appreciate the patronizing tone. All good. Look, that is an option if you are so willing, knock your socks off. I have just some issues with that strategy that prevent me from doing so:
    • Players who have been playing for 2+ years probably have 15-35 generals in their corral, most specializing in various areas. Only specializing some (and using whatever tactic to remember which is which) and not others, will reduce the effective combat forces they have by a factor of those upgraded versus those not. Personally, this is the biggest reason I would not do a partial implementation of 'Jog'.
    • Using existing maps/guides, no change would be needed for blocks/attacks if all are on the same 'page'.
    • This solution is just a temporary one; certainly no player, noob or not would make this a permanent situation. So, in the spirit of TSO, relax, take your time to build all the requisite books and BAM! do it all at one time.
    • In a split situation like this, is is certain there will be gaffs, mixing up generals and the like resulting in failed blocks, intercepted generals. These accidents will nullify any benefits created by the assigned skills.

In any case, just my 2 ¢.

    Cheers.

ps - Do note that in no way am I asserting that Jog is a bad skill and the I will not use it; I am only saying that I will not implement it in my legions until I can afford to do so in all of my generals.

Segmenting the gens into different skills for the same gen type, or partially skilling
some and not others in my view would be the biggest problem with this whole system.
It would break up the gens into various groups with consequences mentioned above
many times. Not everyone can't wait to hit them all the way most of us plan so
it's too bad there wasn't an on/off switch or button...
Jog to me looks to be a blessing or a curse depending on how many books you have
and it should be bottom tier and have to agree strongly it's not quick enough atm.

I'm not keen on jog because of how it may affect blocks. But it's a great skill to give a loot spot general. Dracul would be a good candidate. I sometimes use him for sacs but never for blocks, so he won't mess things up. I often use MMAs and MOD for loot spots too, but they're too valuable for blocking.

+1 Bingo! They are my normal loot-spot guys anyhow, I would put jog on them right away most likely.
