Being able to Star resources
I think it totally unrealistic to be able to star unlimited amounts of resources.. what is the point of storage's or storage capacity if you can have infinite amounts anyways... So you can just make larger trades? Maybe you should be able to star some resources but there should be a cap.
To me i feel the staring of resources after u hit storage cap is in a way a work around of how storage and storage capacity's are suppose to work.

I agree with the general premise - storage is storage, having this unlimited extra storage defeats the purpose to some degree. But then I think of issues... millions of things in star (I am not a hoarder, really, but stuff has accumulated in star over 5 years).
One specific concern for me would be loot of settlers, plat ore, exotic wood. With plat ore and exo logs, I get them in loot and can't process them fast enough, so the excess goes to star. I have not "starred" a single log or plat ore intentionally, but have many in star... and I have over two million storage, so it's not like I am not capable of handling decent amounts.
With settlers, I may have just refilled from star to keep the racks going, but then I get more settlers in loot. Would hate to lose those.

Your star menu is your saving account, the storage is your credit card limit. Who's to say there is a limit of how much money you can have in your saving account.
PS. did you forget the declined trades we used to keep in mailbox ?

I use the mail to save resources
) I have some items in my old mail from 3 years ago. Yes a cap might be needed so people trade the excess res to newer or needy players .

To star or not to star, that is the question

Star storage came in handy when they had the smelters and weapons producing faster than normal once which lasted for a week. During that time people were running out of coal and ores and if they didn't have a LOT in their star they lost production. You can put your own cap on how much you keep by selling or putting a few buildings to sleep.

yeah the market won't go wonkie with everyone selling all there capped resources....good luck selling PWL's, coal, or anything else (for the newbs) to try and buy a lootspot. 1m PWL would sell for 1 nothin....cause everything would be upside down, restraining the release of goods creates balance in economy.
