    Security Update: Change Password.

    Security Update: Change Password.

This notice keeps popping up after logging into Settlers.
I clicked on the link, and get a blank page. I am awfully wary of notices to change password!

I have not received any recent security notifications, but will send an inquiry to the proper people. If there is a general security issue and users are going to be requested to change their passwords, then it would be posted on the main page and in the forum. Please do not use any pop-up links that are not known to be sent by the game. Currently, the only pop-up type notice that is used is that for the guild voting, which is not currently active.

If you are getting a request to change your password, please use only the direct link on the login screen, rather than any pop-up. This will send a link to your game email to allow you to change your password, and will direct you to the u-play website (https://account-uplay.ubi.com) to make the change.

The best way to deal with this is to go directly to U-Play and check you password there (https://account.ubisoft.com/en-US/login). Your account there should provide any information about security issues and you can change your password at that site without worrying about hijacking or phishing issues.

Odd that, every browser I use tells me the same thing and it's the fact they don't use www.https:// that is causing this issue (at least that is what I've been told).

Google rolled out not secure warnings for passwords recently, and Firefox followed suit. Not that things are any more or less secure than before, just a light is being shined on it. Despite the warning, Ubisoft assures you if you click the lock when logging in that the login is secure, as the data flows over Uplay regardless of whatever domain acts as the front for a specific game. Google's eventual plan is to place those warnings everywhere, even if you are not transmitting information. Overabundance of caution or attempt to benefit networks like Adsense that have been in the https game longest? Why not both?

Thank you Gwalben for that info. More of a reply than the ticket I had sent in months ago

WHAT? You mean that response informing you to check your Flash version, clear cache and refresh your browser did not do it for you!?

Test server is testing https now. Maybe that's why I can't post on the forums there anymore. I doubt it will actually make a difference, but it will make Google happier and thus get rid of the security warning.
