Just finished with a bit of time to spare. Wasn't sure if I was going to have to gem a quest because of the uncertainty of what kept popping up, but I ended up having just enough time. Had to burn through a few extra buffs, but overall I found the resource cost reasonable for a change of pace and a unique population and resource building, among the other rewards, though it wouldn't have been if I didn't have time to finish.

Lesson learned that I should upgrade some of my elite buildings. I have most of them sitting at level 2 or 3 because I hardly ever use them, but giving them another level or two won't hurt for situations like this. Would have been nice if I could produce mahogany planks in the epic woodyard.

The troop production quests turned out to be rougher than I anticipated. Between a couple of skunks, recruitment guides, and Myers, the time became manageable. At least give me troops people actually use. I hardly ever even bring marksmen with me on adventures, and it looks like I lose 6 on Wisdom and 10 on Fisherman's Wife. I guess I'll burn the extra couple hundred eventually (same with the other troop types, except knights), but I could be sitting on these troops for a while because they are too expensive for me to want to just throw away.

for me it felt like a scam.. this is why...

i started one day late because i couldnt come online at first day of quest.
so i imidiatly started the quest list.

first phase was easy altough toke me 2 steps per day.
get the resources and tools to fight the camp.
phase 2 was getting me a bit in a problem.. needed to use my jsut gained gems to buy houses for training troops( and somewhere mistoke longbowers for crossbowers)
i didnt fight because i toguht i needed to dellegate troops later. so i jsut boguht hosues and extra production for weapons i normally dont make that much ( seeing hwo i never lose those troops that much to replace the weapons)
phase 3 was all recruitng more troops which i havent got room for at this point

and at phase 4 i got the feeling of being scammed 1 more recruitment ewhich i jsut sended my recruits and second time milita to a quest to lose them so i had room.
got 8 hours left to do the quest and got to the last phase of the tower building but here is the catch..
needed to get 50 somekind of wood from long treasure search and adventure search .. even with the help of skills never could have gotten past that in time
and again didnt send any explorers in advance because of this quest.. so it felt to me it was some kinda scam

So I was finishing stage 2 just processing the last bits of meat - which I had time to do before the end and went to bed SINCE I HAVE TO WORK TODAY!

But no - the quest reward was not waiting for me when I woke up! What a rip off - I am supposed to stay up till midnight to collect this? Since I was sure I made it why wasn't the reward waiting for me to collect this morning, end of quest time or not? I earned it why did I not get it? I am supposed to stay up and wait when I have TO WORK TODAY!?! Can you say RIP OFF!!!!! I AM PISSED!!! Why was I not given the reward?

Stop pushing us to make troops just be cause you think we should have them, stop adding in long searches on a limited time quest, and stop ripping off players! I spent way more than I got in this quest which also pisses me off.

Why can't we have quests that are fun and not just forced advancement?

    Agreed.

Was excited at the start but by the end it was a disappointment. Time limit should have been 7 days (IMO).
Wasted lots of resources with no results to show for it.

So in other words, they need to design these quests so everyone can do them no matter how late they start or how much time they have to play. Hmm not much of a "crisis" if you know going in you are getting the prizes. With that line of reasoning, might better just send to everyone as a gift up front(what fun that would be for all) and save themselves the aggravation. I thought it was fun and well balanced for all levels.

I think the argument is maybe better rewards per stage or at least some indication of a reasonable time frame to expect to complete. I didn't really keep track of what it cost me, so I can't say whether the earlier costs were all that much, though most of what I invested into it was for resource production of stuff I will use eventually at the expense of some buffs.

I have tried to argue that point of view before, hope you have better luck with it than I did.

Anywho, no matter what I thought of the individual quests... the rewards this time around were well worth the cost. I mean I am kind of disappointed that every time I go out of town for a week, that is when you decide to do a Crisis Event, but I will not take it personally. But yeah, I get to blow up an extra mountain and get a recycling manufactory? Sign me up anytime.
    One army. Pretty please.

I have 4 freebies now, but I never used any of them because I didn't want to blow up the wrong spot.

AGREED, my point exactly! They need to realize that we all would love to play but this game is not at the top of my RL to do list. It is not too much to ask for to A) not be asked to do a bunch of pointless upgrades or commitments to expensive troops; B) Have a reasonable idea of what the time commitment is so we can decide if it is worth pursuing; C) If we earn the reward before it ends - WE GET THE AWARD REGARDLESS OF WHEN WE PICK IT UP!!!
