I would consider giving up two manuscripts for enough crystals, but several crystals is not that number. I don't really need manuscripts so much that I would miss two of them, but I'm not giving them up for this reward either.
but you need crystals?
Lol. This is the only Daily Quest I have ever canceled. If you have a lvl6 Bookbinder on Hide Glue or Wilderwood Resin (best possible buff, each at x2 or +100%) it takes 10h (@5h/ea.) to run them... so assuming you have nothing else going on you have to be sure to get this one started in the wee hours, or of-course, have them laying around to discard. Rather put manuscripts into specialists or into the next tome.
Now, regarding Pathfinder.... I'd love to see an adjustment to:
- Reinforcing Our Ranks - 100 each of XB, E and K. Please. These are troops that are NEVER sacrificed and rarely lost by players of level 71+. Further, players of this level are very likely to already have a standing number of thee troops at hand, so adding 100 of each essentially forces one to waste these numbers of troops; recalling that 10x of each weapon are required for each of the Kingdom troops.
- The Finest Warriors - Similar to above, Besiegers and Armored Marksmen are rarely (if ever) used as sacrifices.
Cheers.

Long letters are somewhat helpful at XP progress. Plus I need to finish upgrading my epic farmyard, which I don't need.
+1
You don't want to know how many elite soldiers, xbows and cannons i already sac on tikki- the easiest adv i run, easy to control losses... Such a waste of resources...
Ok, i understand the Pathfinder quests are made not to be all easy and fast to complete, ok, BB wants us to waste barracks time, but really... this is just a waste of resources and a headache to get rid of the extra troops
And, speaking about Pathfinder quests... please, can you change the adventures we have to complete there? Or at least add more? It's kinda boring...
oh, and i always cancel the manu quest too, not worth wasting 2 manuscripts for a few crystals
i totally agree and would gladly sign
I haven't done this quest, so I had to look it up in one of the fan wikis to see what this thread was about.
The bookbinder is something of gating system specifically designed to restrict players to a slow pace for this aspect of the game. Players can only build one bookbinder; books cannot be traded among players; there really aren't any practical buffs to increase production; the costs of production continually increase with more production; and production times are on a scale of days rather than minutes.
In general, I would think of a daily quest as a relatively easy quest one can accomplish in a short period of time, or that takes a very tiny fraction of one's production, for a small reward. In requiring 2 manuscripts, this "daily" quest effectively takes up two entire days worth of production. The cost of the quest is simply not worth the reward… on an order of magnitudes when compared to all the other daily quests.
To make this quest reasonable, the game would have to remove ALL of the aspects mentioned above: players would have to be able to build multiple bookbinders; books could be traded among players; regular buffs could be applied to the building; production costs would remain constant; and production times would be a matter of minutes rather than days.
On one hand it would be easier simply to remove the quest. But on the other hand, it is after all a game, and is up to the player to decide whether something is economical to pursue or not. Though, I didn't know a player even could cancel a daily quest until reading this thread.
ok i got the library again tonight and again cancelled it.
the 2 manuscript cost is simply too high for the 7 crystals offered, even with the manu recipe.
in theory the quest is good. pretty sure it gives the highest amount of crystals out of the quests. its just not high enough or the requirement is too high. change it to like 12 crystals for 2 manu or 1 manu for 6 crystals.
in practice it just gets cancelled and leaves an empty feeling for the day.
