What are the odds (drop rate) of gaining these in the quest/adventures that offer them? Out of close to 20 times of various adventures and quest, I have gotten everything else but the/a recipe. Not trying to complain but it is getting annoying. Will this recipe (or tome or codex) ever be offered as a prize during an event?
There are only three quests that can provide the recipe for manuscripts. These are Settlers & Bandits (Book Of Characters), The Lost Compass, and A Threat? (Mysterious Anonymous Threat). Some information regarding these quests can be found here. There is no official drop rate for the recipe reported. In addition, there is a counter to ensure that players will receive the recipe after a specific, unreported, number of tries.
Haven't heard much about this since the cap was put in place, but the complaints were still going on even after that at dozens of tries.
Unconfirmed claim is at least 40 tries until guaranteed drop.
Is this joke still going on? Amazing.

After a year or so more. It finally dropped from me from the Quest Settlers and Bandits (book of characters)!
