    Directing a battle

Is it possible to direct one's own units to attack different enemy units within a particular battle?

No, but you can control this to some extent. The troops and generals you choose to send can impact attack order and target. For example, Vargus can cause enemy flanking units to fail in their flanking attempt and instead force them to attack your meat shields (recruits/mounted swordsmen). Troops that have flanking (attacks weakest or trample) will bypass tough defender troops and go for weaker attack troops.

This guide is very useful for understanding combat mechanics.
