Oh. I didn't realize the tree was a choice either. I just grabbed the houses. Already have the one for presents, which doesn't seem that good, but I wouldn't mind having another.

The problem with drop rates is they're based over the entire community (aka the law of large numbers) and not on the individual player (aka too small a sample size). Each of the options can be dropping as indicated as a community; there are always going to be individuals at the ends of the bell curve. You get 3 improved butchers while someone is getting 3 improved silos or improved watermills or one of the other options.
We need a week of free moving to arrange that Christmas Market.
Still around from time to time.
BB has been pretty clear (in the AMA) that they don't like how the Free Move Days undermine the point of this being a resource management game, so not to expect any more.
I'd love it if they reconsidered, especially with the CMarket, but alas...
Can someone please confirm for me how collectibles are handled with deactivation?
According to post #7 of the dev diary: https://forum.thesettlersonline.net/...l=1#post288556
It says there that the Mayor house collection will be removed. That suggests to me that all collectibles spawned before the start of removal phase can be picked up, but that nothing can be done with them except wait for conversion to a tiny amount of coin. Is that right?Collectibles
All event related collectibles stop spawning.
Christmas collectibles spawned before the start of the removal phase can be collected.
The respective resources (Bells, Candy and Gingerbread) will be hidden from the storage and trade
The resources get converted to gold coins later (see event resource conversion).
The related Mayor house collection (Basket of Presents) will also be removed
I would have liked the Mayor house to still be able to convert the collectibles we have on hand, and still have the option to trade them as we can (i believe) trade presents.
Correct.
Mad scientist.
Finally got my Christmas market up and running. I thought it was kind of interesting based on the preview, but this is an awesome building at level 3 or 4. Steep cost in presents but reasonable to recover that initial investment.
