    Noble bookbinder tribute

Like the idea for the build but very disappointed that it has been downgraded from tomes to manuscripts. If a que was added to the bookbinder or at least quantities selectable that would be a way bigger help. Thank and happy settling all

From what I understand, the downgrade happened because ONE player on the test server worked out a theoretical maximum (and the calculation was debated) of 80 tomes a week or something. The fact that almost nobody would actually achieve that doesn't seem to have cut any ice.

BB, if you read this stuff, please take note that the vast majority of players would be over the moon to be able to get more TOMES from thin air, and the vast majority will probably only actually make a few per week, and we NEED a lot of tomes, because just to fully use ONE new general (and there are new generals quite frequently) you're going to want probably a dozen tomes used directly and another 18 to make codices. Likely 30 tomes for ONE specialist.

So please pretty please with a cherry on, ignore that one player who seems to think the game should be hard work and put the tribute building back to making Tomes.

Holy exploit. That makes sense now then.

They didn't need to change what the building made, just what buffs could be applied. The guy was talking about stacking a premium friend buff with the best other buffs available.

Please make this right BB. Just make the building unbuffable and give tomes.

I agree with what Jon said. If you're worried about players getting too many tomes out of the deal make it unbuffable and only give 1-3 tomes per round.

The last event alone required 187 books to fill out the people being sold, and I'm sure many players took the approach I did and opted to just not buy many as unbooked they just aren't worth it. Given how the higher level books require multiples of lower level ones I am guessing the total count is probably closer to 400+ books needed to finish booking them. If players received maybe two tomes a week that is still barely over 100 a year.

Many of the players arguing that a single manuscript is adequate have been playing for years. Is that a logical business model, basing your decisions around balancing gameplay to keep the 70+ crowd from getting too many items?

Yes, you could quiet nearly all of these arguments if players were allowed to queue up items in the bookbinder, but the last decade has made it fairly evident that that's never going to happen.

I have been playing this game for about 6 years and at the rate I am going I will never get anything but my generals booked and that will take another two years and the game will be dead anyway by that time. I would like this building to produce tomes and be able to be buff because one tome a week isn't going to cut it with me either - just don't allow buffs to stack on this building.

This is disapointing, I was looking forward to this building before the change

It's deja vu all over again. Last time a tiny, but loud minority messed up a feature for everyone else in the game was when the Jog skill got nerfed. I'll still use the Bookbinder Tribute, just like I use Jog.

But I don't have to like the way some decisions seem to be made by the devs. Caving in to the loudest person citing the least common/likely downside to something isn't a recipe for customer satisfaction. Two strikes for BB on my scorecard.

I'm arguing that 4 (or more) manuscripts is adequate. The improvements take time and should, but people seem to be wanting a building that takes up no space and has no input cost and requires minimal effort to obtain spit out a fully booked specialist every week. The tributes are supposed to be a trickle. I think the 1000 warehouse space is lame from the warehouse tribute, but I still placed it anyway because why not?

That said, unbuffable with tomes was my thought as well, and reasonable. That makes it slightly better but not overpowered. I'm not sure what people expect this building to do if a free tome or two is not enough, though.
