    Thumbs down Anniversary event. Seriously?

Sorry if I seem confused but when I saw the announcement for the Sept 6th anniversary event they make it sound like the game is fully functional and not a steaming pile since the unity "upgrade". The game still runs like total crap and yet they announce an event? How about you fix this rotten pile of landfill overflow instead? And then MAYBE, once it's actually playable, have an event maybe to celebrate the "fix" that is a total screw up that is unity. It's really wonderful they fixed MAILBOX issues. Oh boy thank you so MUCH! I mean, if I couldn't read my inbox it would totally ruin the game considering the whole game is played through the mail system.

That was my initial reaction as well, but some people countered that this is not a bad event to run. The resource gathering is mostly passive. The good thing is that explorers are necessary, but need to be sent a lot less often than most events. It does require a fair amount of mostly simple adventuring, but the few adventures I have done ran mostly smoothly because there is nothing in the adventure stars.

Granted, the concept of the community working toward a balloon gathering goal is kind of a joke because most people can barely even keep their island running doing basic things, if they can login at all. I make books, run Christmas markets, send the occasional geologist, do the daily and some weekly quests, and that's about it. I'm probably about as well off as it gets being able to even do that.

Wiki hasn't even been updated yet. They probably can't play. I assume it's almost the same as last year's event, but with a couple of new buildings/specialists/bundles.

Of course, absolutely the last thing this game needs is something that will cause more lag, and normally events do that.

If they try to run Halloween without addressing the lag, I'm going to be really irritated and probably not bother and might even just look at that as a sign it's time to give up on the game, but this one I'm willing to at least make an effort and see how it goes.
