So what I'm hearing is "ZONE REFRESHED" the game will continue "ZONE REFRESHED" to run like complete garbage! "ZONE REFRESHED" After over 10 years "ZONE REFRESHED" and all the money the Settlers "ZONE REFRESHED" have made... we gotta wait "ZONE REFRESHED" many more months before we can "ZONE REFRESHED" try and enjoy this game... "ZONE REFRESHED" everyone at the settlers HQ "ZONE REFRESHED" should be ashamed of this game "ZONE REFRESHED" as it stands...
COMPLETE GARBAGE."ZONE REFRESHED" But yeah... let's have another "ZONE REFRESHED" event even thou the game "ZONE REFRESHED" is in complete shambles...
I will not be "ZONE REFRESHED" playing the game in this "ZONE REFRESHED" HORRIBLE state....
But hey, let's have another "ZONE REFRESHED" event even thou the game is "ZONE REFRESHED" broken... just pause the game until "ZONE REFRESHED" it's fixed it's not worth playing "ZONE REFRESHED" like this... thanks for nothing.... "ZONE REFRESHED"

so last night i joined a TR (cause i had a stupid ghost quest)... i joined at like 8pm.... i didnt finish the tr .. until 9,40p --- all that time all it would do was zone refresh, never loaded my isle, locked up constantly so i couldn't even update the other players that i didnt ditch. i managed to final accept the invite... annd then it took 40 min for me to get it to send 4 gens... and another 20 to load the adv... (meanwhile my home isle was all green or worse all blue the entire time).

and .. you want to fix your gem purchases... right... someone needs to have a chat w/ you folks about priorities and what that word means.. cause you won't have any one left to buy gems soon.

Wow wow wow is all I can say or should I say OW OW OW Reading this update it would appear thaat BB are under the illussion that the game migration to unity actually works. What does it take to get the message through that it isnt working from a players point of view.

Have all our observations and feedback just been ignored. I am fortunate in that I have been able to play through using the client If this option hadnt been available to me albeit with a lot of extra effort setting it up then I would 95% have quit by now.

PLEASE BB add the option to use client to the homescreen for others that they might at least be able to login and enjoy the game a little.

I know im wasting my breath really as this message probably wont even be read let alone acted upon.

Not just some russian hacker. But I endorse this product and am running tests on writing a manual so that all players can come back to Flash.

    Hacker. Well.
Hacking implies infiltration. Hacking would be altering the client code in some way. Or accessing information.
    No.

This is cracking. That's a good thing. You want that.
Because the client is locked up like a safe. It is right there and installed, but you can't access it. Dam.
But when you apply a crack. You crack the safe and unlock what you want.
So what people call a "hacked Iphone" is actually a "cracked Iphone".

I have been cracking video games and programs for years.
Photoshop suite costs $1000 legit you know.
    Autocad is like %700
Or.. if you CRACK these prgrams. You may get them working. This high end products will always come with CD-key's.
But hey. DRM-6 is breakable. So we have things like keygens, which will allow you installation. Then with a crack to bypass security check on launch.
You computer does not know that the program you are running is not authenticated.

Settlers has a big blue play button on the launch page.
    What that does.
Is take your login credentials from your standardized Uplay login and send that date to the chosen client upon initiation.
The client is authenticated by this button.
It's what makes the machine go.

Right now that big blue button is pointed toward a floating client in a live form which works in browser. And it launches OS based drivers to do so.
Your video and memory are being directed by Openglide.
Big blue play button say's to do so.
Because when you hit the button, it does a few things actually. A game doesn't just launch.
It executes a series of commands which results in a playable client in your face.
    Difference.

You can go and download the X32 or X64 framework client from TSO website.
    Or from the dropboxes provided.
Both will install fine and include directives to Adobe air.

What the client installer will do however, is set itself up to be pointed to by the big blue play button.
You cannot launch thesettlersonline.exe from local because you have not gone through the ubisoft authenticator.
The client is waiting for your account credentials, and the instructions to launch itself with Adobe as an engine.
However, there is no access to the client from TSO after logging in.
So the client is broken. It works.
You just cannot get to it. It's right there. You can log in to TSO website and launch client from local. Nothing will happen, it isn't made to work that way.

This crack is simple and elegant.
It does a very simple thing.

See even way back in 90's games. When you open a /data folder for a game. You will always have at least 2 to 3 ways to launch the game.
    Game.exe
    Client.exe
    autoexec.exe
This will come in different names, but similar conventions. And different icons.
But they all seemingly go to the same thing.
Which one is actually the game executable? curious hm.
Which of these just initiate the game exe by pointing to it?
    How can this be exploited?

What you are simply doing is deleting thesettlersonline.exe and renaming client.exe to "thesettlersonline.exe".
    Need that.
Need to update the client.swf file.
That compares local patch version to server patch version. This must match.
Now you need a big blue play button to point to the renames client.
So you need an extension called tampermonkey.
This allows you to add a website to a whitelist where specified scripts will be activated upon visit.
By pointing to TSo and adding "TSO" last breathe". This simple 50 line JavaScript adds a "play with client" button stylized into natural menu.
Whereby pressing it will authenticate with your login credentials and initiate client.exe from local. Which will run off adobe air flash.

There are a few this and that steps to do. And the instructions given are a little lacking.
But the whole top part thing. Apparently that you don't even have to do. Don't know what that part is.
I have not yet been able to try accessing flash client without the top step. I did it anyway, it being in another language didn't stop me.
It appears to make the connection between client and ubiconnect.
Perhaps client needs that backchannel for data transfer. I've seen that before, it's not suspect.
Very similar to running multiplayer SNES and GEN systems.
The emulators themselves do not have servers setup for multiplayer.
But when third party were set up a client was made to access the emu and be the communicator.
So 2 programs working in tandem to jury rig a feature that was intended but never realized until technology caught up with the dream.

All of the steps done are nothing new.
    And certainly not hacking.
That the flash client works smoothly is your proof positive that server data is fluent and that unity as a translator is flawed.
Anybody who chooses to continue to use unity certainly can.
That is the current game plan. go team unity.

But I am not going to join you in complaining about how terrible the client is.
When I can run an alternative.
    So can you.

Ha." we mac users can't run flash." hahahahahhahaha.
    Can't? Or you just won't?
I will not be a person you can tell that you "can not" run flash on a mac.

I'm not saying anything bad about the client per se. I'm just saying determine your risk tolerance and proceed accordingly. Malwarebytes has identified it as riskware, so not inherently bad, but potentially exploitable. Tampermonkey says don't install scripts unless you know and trust the source. That's not even getting into that BB frowns upon its use, though they are not actively punishing anyone and I suspect won't. If people want to use it, more power to them. I'll pass.

In this community update, we want to address common concerns which are usually:

    1. What are we doing to fix the game?
    2. What are the future plans for the game?
    3. When can we expect a "fixed" game?
    4. Let us know what you are doing to give us an overall picture of what is happening.

This community update focuses not on the individual issues we have (known as bugs), but on the overall situation and the future. As you can read, the upcoming updates will bring the rest of the Unity code to the game, so it will be much easier for the development team to work on the game. We really want to make improvements to the game as soon as the technical issues are resolved. We are also working on new servers to help with performance issues.

Part of the Gem Shop that some find controversial - Gamestore improvements have NO detraction from the game's development. They're handled by different people/teams altogether.

If you are following our test server, we had three updates in the last month: one for backend improvements and two updates with bug fixes - these have not yet been deployed to our Live servers. We are constantly working on bug fixes and we're doing our best, to provide them on our Live Servers, as soon as possible to make sure you all see the difference.

We know which bugs/issues are the most annoying for you, and this is where our focus is.

Almost every day people talk about quitting and finding another game. To many people it has taken far too long to get unity to work right (been over six months now hasn't it and very little progress has been made from when it first hit the test servers) and they really aren't interested in your 'plans' for the future when you can't get what exists in the game to work. To me personally it feels like you are trying to string us along with the idea that 'eventually' things will be better.

you say you want to make the settlers better not just keep them alive so can you please tell me when the game is going to start working like it use to such as when you look at the avatars at the bottom of the screen where you see your guild members and friends they have a green dot in the left hand corner the there little box so you know they are online playing the game at the time you are playing and when is the game going to take less then 4.5 mins to load because it is just daft looking at a screen that put just water then some green grass then the trees then the mayor's house then some other building then the mines then the stone & marble quarries and in the end the collectables and your general's and even then the game is still very very slow i use to play the game a lot now i just come on now and again for my collies and to replace mines and quarries and do the odd quest i do not even do any ADV any more because they are so slow its not my pc because i got a new one less than 6 months ago
