    Resolute General Guides

The Resolute General is the most powerful general BB has produced so far. At least that’s what I think about him. I’ve been making my own guides using Mannerheims excellent software, TSO Swift Simulator, and lately have begun sharing them with guild mates.

It fast became obvious that a centralized location where guides can be posted, updated and new ones added is going to be the least cumbersome way to make them available to my guild mates, and so here we are, Resolute guides for anybody who decides to use them.

Guides are pretty basic and are offered on an “as is” basis. Most are full clear with no blocks or specific general placements. Troop counts are maximized for 5 Resolutes. You can run these adventures with less than the Armoured Marksmen, Mounted Marksmen and Besiegers listed, and if you have less than 4 or 5 Resolutes there will be wait times. Swordsmen, Mounted Swordsmen and Knight counts are what you’ll actually need, so follow those guidelines more closely. Send at least as many as the listed casualties, if not the actual counts shown.

I’ll add more guides over time, probably slowly, but I’ll get there eventually. I have run/tested the majority of these, with Evil Queen Campaign being the exception. Mannerheims sim is accurate enough that I don’t worry about a few untested ones; however, if there is a problem when I do run them I’ll promptly fix and repost links.

    With all that said, enjoy!

I’m also curious about your choice of skills on a Resolute. Rather than us both bloviating endlessly about the merits and failures of our chosen skillsets I setup a Resolute general in the sim with your Elite troop skills and ran a few maps with him. Here are the results:

Both versions of Resolute are able to complete all camps, losses are a little heavier with your skills.

Bonaberti is another story: 8 of 14 camps attacked by a Resolute were unable to be defeated with your Resolute and show on the guide as no attack. All 14 camps were defeated by my version. I’m not real fond of sacs and only use them when absolutely necessary. Which is why I love the Resolute. He can blow away most camps all on his own, saving sending extra generals and troops to an adventure. Tomato – Tomahto maybe, yes??

Regarding Cleave: Initially I’d given all my Resolutes this skill. On reflection it seemed a better idea to put the books in Weekly Maintenance as that skill is active for both normal and elite troop types where Cleave is only for normal troops. I prefer having an all purpose Resolute general rather than separate ones designated for a particular troop type. Again……. Tomato – Tomahto maybe, yes??

Regarding Battle Frenzy: It does not stack with a Resolutes built in version of that skill as far as I can tell via documentation on the general and also the sim results, which I trust to be accurate.

Since the only guide for normal troops I’ve done to date is Bandit Nest, I have not run a comparison as one adventure isn’t necessarily an accurate comparison. That said, at some point when I have done more guides for normal troops it will be interesting to see how they compare. I’m curious enough to put in the research.
