There is a bug that causes the music and sound effect option controls to quit working over time without even using them or any option menu and they don't work correctly even before they're bugged. Simply toggling the music option button on and off about 5 or 6 times will usually trigger the bug, causing both the music and sound effects to stop working. Then the only thing that appears to make the music function again is to turn the music volume down to zero and then back up again. This will also result in the music volume jumping from zero to mid range instead of gradually.

Once the music volume is disabled and bugged, there appears to be no consistent way to get the bugged sound effects working again.
