Does anyone know what the "new repeatable Challenge Questchain "Celebration Marathon"" is all about?
There's no info in the Dev's Diary nor in the wiki.
Can we get an "Old Folks Home" building, where we can retire unused specialists in exchange for some gems, to spend on items during event.
Limited to 1 specialist per event, 2 - during Anniversary event.
The Old Folks Home is a great idea!!!
The event donation tiers are not exciting at all. The 10,000 donation tier only giving oil and grout which we can produce and accumulate on our own. And the 15,000 balloon donation giving us the balloon market tribute which is also another useless tribute, since those buffs just rot in star and are never used... are awards that are laughable and insulting for those donation tiers.
The developers should weigh prizes by popularity or usability for those high end top donation tiers. Or who would have any drive or impulse or incentive to collect 15,000 balloons, especially lower levels who struggle to accumulate the resources for cakes and production.
Something to think about and consider.
Festival Hall Hardood Plank Problem
Festival Hall Hardwood Plank Production to Balloons seems to 1.91 K + 1.91 K + 1.91 K = Total 5,73 K. But checking Hardwood Plank Consumptions is 66.8 K
No bug here numbers are correct. Festival hall is showing consumption per cycle, consumption is per 12 hours so a little under 12x what you see in festival hall.Originally Posted by ironique

Is Sunday, August 25, 10:00 CEST, the correct day for the end of the event - should it not be Monday, August 26? If you end on Sunday many players will not be able to open the calendar door on that date due to time zones. In the past, all events that I have participated in start and end on a Monday.
For the 2nd year in a row I am unable to buy the Misty Cake maps from the event merchant. Shows me I have reached my limit and I can buy 0x. Thing is, I have never bought a single one... ever. So... what the heck?
Bad moves
These were useful items from last year's merch and have now been removed:
- Royal Explorer - 4499 gems (max. 4)
- Celebrative Lookout - 3299 gems (max. 2)
- Anniversary Premium Bundle 1 - 14199 gems (max. 1) (1x Oil Refinery, 1x Celebrative Lookout, 1x Bold Explorer, 1x Diligent Geologist, 7 Premium Days 2x3 days and 1x1 day, 1x Large Pack of Balloons, 250 Oil, 2x Machine Oil, 2x Celebrity comes to town, 2x Small Birthday Cake, 2x Elixir)
Good moves
- Great to see that some old standalone items are coming back to the merch! Bold Explorer, Gen. Tremble Beard, Diligent Geologist, Sickbay, Old-School Barracks
- Nice adding: Emphatic Explorer
- Misty Cake map for map frags! Oh yeah!
- Interesting new Balanced Geologist
- New buildings! Improved Bronze Weaponsmith, Advanced Toolmaker Tribute and special bookbinder
- The Calendar's rewards were nice
Issues, bugs
- I was unable to buy Misty Cake maps from the merch. It was locked from the beginning. This is very annoying! As far as I know, it happened to many other players as well.
Conclusion
I think this event merch is not as bad as it was last year. I can see the improvements (even if it's still a bit of mixed feelings), and it looks like BB devs have read the feedback from last year. Even the new bundles are not perfect, but at least PFB is included again. There are new buildings, etc. But on the flip-side, you still took away good stuff (Celebrative Lookout). Overall it looks better this year.
Suggestions for improvements for next year:
- Add back the Celebrative Lookout
- Increase the Oil Refinery max. number to 3 or 4
- Add back the Royal Explorer
- Fix the Misty Cake merch map bug
